Default When To Try The Next Level?

If I play Limit games and I have $300, I can play .50/$1 according to the accepted standard of 300 big bets. When should you try $1/$2? Wait until you have $600? Try it as long as you have over $300? What if I have $400 Could I or rather should I try $1/$2 and if my roll dropped back to $300 then you drop back down. A major issue I have always had is when should you try the next level?

Default Re: When To Try The Next Level?

This is the new rule I like.

I'm at mostly 30/60.

I personally like to have a bankroll of 500 BBs at my current level.

I'll take shots at the next level (50/100) when I have 250 BBs when it looks good.

Now when I feel different on different stakes. For anything 4/8 and below. I think keeping 200 BBs is nice for current level but taking shots when you have 125 BBs at the next.

If you are a proven winner at .5/1, I don't think you need 300 BBs for levels up to 4/8, I don't think the swings are as high.
