Default set of 5\'s facing all in

second hand of sit n go. I limp with pocket 5's , the button only doubles the blind. BB calls and I call. flop is A Q 5 rainbow. BB bets half pot, and I double the bet. The button goes all in. what are the odds he really has AA or QQ to beat me? I would think its a no brainer to call it. Am I over thinking this?

Default Result

I called and he turned over AQ suited. He ended up hitting runner runner for the flush. The joys of pokerstars ......

are you implying he would've folded to a push on the flop as opposed to pushing against the raise? otherwise it's just tough luck and not his fault.

this is a bad beat thread. 99% of the time you're up against a bare ace here because anything better (even AQ, two pair on this raggy flop) means that most people will AUTOMATICALLY slowplay it, not lead.

oh, about 109:1 against.

Yes.
If you decide to play 55, what kind of flop are you looking for besides an uncoordinated rainbow flop containing a 5?

A set is a very strong hand, and I'd get my chips in here, but I'd realize that low sets will lose to larger sets and flushes/straights.

This does smell like a bad beat post...
