3/6, I grow a river sack
I'm trying to improve on value raising the river. Are these standard spots for raises? I think in both cases, fold to a 3-bet?
Party Poker 3/6 Hold'em (6 max, 6 handed) converter Button hasn't been at table long. So far seems standard 3/6 fare. Loose passive, but not a total donkey. I don't like the river c/r in hand 1. No point. I think you should 3bet the turn instead.
In Hand 2 your river raise takes balls but is probably correct. I'd need to sit and think about my read before raising here. |

I'd probably forget I might have just "drawn out" on 2 pair in the heat of the moment. Consider betting hand 1 and calling a raise though. If he was smart at all he wouldn't bet river and certainly wouldn't call a checkraise. forturnetly this guy seems dumb enough to do both. Hand 2 seems good. Like he really has K2. |

Re: 3/6, I grow a river sack
That's pretty much what I was thinking. I figured I just counterfeited his two-pair. I didn't have much of a read, but I know A9 and A6 are (somewhat) likely holdings of your typical party player who calls 2-cold two much. I really wasn't fearing AQ hear.
In hand #1, my only real read was that he wasn't a complete moron preflop. If he called from the SB, he had something decent. A pocket pair or a weaker king, I figured. I think I would've been less inclined to raise the river if he didn't check-raise the flop. Is that backwards thinking? The c/r screamed KQ-K9 to me. |
