PS HH since PT patch question

I remember reading that PT no longer requires us PStars SNG players to request the tournament summary because Pat did some kind of fix so that the HandHistory will suffice.

What does this sacrifice if anything?

I thought I also read that once you bust out and the HH stops getting written to, what you'll lose are the finish places of the others in the tournament. Can someone please enlighten me? I would love to stop requesting the summaries.
