If people think their vote doesnt count now, lets see how they feel with no electoral college when the candidates spend all their time in large metropolitan areas. And if you think politics are bad now, not having the Electoral College will open a nasty can of worms that will make the aftermath of the 2000 election look like childs play.

*lives in large metropolitan area* (well, relatively), and so do most people. There. :P Politicians would spend more time in places people actually live.

And yeah, it's going to be one helluva litigation mess if we didn't have the electoral college, even bigger than the crap it is now, but I really don't like the fact that a vote in one state, such as Ohio, counts so much more than a vote in another state, such as Idaho.
