Re: How many buy-ins must you lose before calling it quits for the day
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I've managed to stop looking at PT win stats too often [/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] go a week or more without looking [/ QUOTE ] I don't get it either. While I'm playing I have my PT stats open and visible on my 2nd monitor so I can see what my VP$P, hands played, pfr, and $ won looks like. And it updates every 3 minutes. If I'm down big it gives me a challenge to play smart(er) and make a comeback. If I'm up it gives me confidence and my decisions are way easier. And also, how can you not look at neteller/cashier for 1 week? I'm too paranoid someone's gonna steal my money so I check everything at least once/day. What the hell is the problem with looking at your stats ? [/ QUOTE ] [/ QUOTE ] those [censored] red numbers. |

All of them. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, I don't have a stop loss limit. I don't really tilt very often, but if I find I am playing sub-par, I will quit/take a break. |

Re: How many buy-ins must you lose before calling it quits for the day
[ QUOTE ]
i dont like losing more than 2 buyins at a 100bb online game in a 24hr period [/ QUOTE ] Same with me. When I have good discipline, I stop after 2. Otherwise, I tilt big and stop after 3-4. I don't think I've ever lost more than 4 in a night, but then, I don't think I've ever had a session of 1000 hands regardless of results. |

[/ QUOTE ] Put it this way: I'm uncomfortable not knowing how much I'm up or down for a session. I feel lost in a sense. I'm not saying it's good. Rather that's a bad way to think/feel for most people. For me, it helps me stay focused. |

Re: How many buy-ins must you lose before calling it quits for the day
I find that if I DIDN'T check the cashier I wouldn't recognize I was on tilt. My non-tilt play and tilt play is so similar it's hard to tell how tilted I really am. I never really lose money unless I'm on full-blown-monkey tilt, so checking the cashier is the only way to tell if I'm on tilt.

Re: How many buy-ins must you lose before calling it quits for the day
I try as hard as I can to avoid knowing how much I'm up or down. I get rid of the $ Won and BB/100 in GT+ everytime I start it up, and try to click reload chips without seeing how much my account balance is at. Invariably, I slip and look every few days.
If I know exactly how much I'm down in a session, I'm always disappointed. Even if I jump up 3 buy-ins quickly, if I know exactly how much I made, I'll be pissed off if I drop below +3 buy-ins or go 100 hands and I'm still at +3. It's way better for me to have no idea until I go to withdraw (or deposit recently ). |
