Stars 20+2 AK push over a reraise?
Stars 20+2. 150 left. All the notable players in this hand are around 20th in the tournament.
The 2 Villains and I all have just over 11000 in chips. Blinds are 100/200 with a 25 ante. I get AKo in late middle position. UTG Villain raises to 600. He raises a fair amount but certainly nothing out of line. UTG+1 Villain makes it 2200 to go. I've only played with him for a couple of orbits. He seems OK *shrug*. Folded to me. What's my action? Fold, call or push? |

Re: Stars 20+2 AK push over a reraise?
That's an easy, easy fold in my book.
That reraise is not coming from AQ. It's a big pair or AK with you. You'd have to stick in 1/4 of your chips to try to catch an A or K on the flop and hope you're still ahead. Pushing preflop when you're sure you're not ahead is bad, especially since he won't fold most of the hands you want out. It's also a big overbet and you're risking a lot to gain very little. Save your chips. Everett |

Results.
I pushed. UTG folded, UTG+1 called and showed JJ.
I spiked a King on the turn and doubled up to 2nd in chips (busted out around 30th w/ AA v KQs though..) I don't know how bad of a play it is. I think it's a tough call. Getting a huge stack early can be quite an advantage and assuming it's a coinflip, I think it's better to take one early than have to take several later. I dunno. Ryan |

Re: Results.
I don't like his call with JJ thats for sure. He is basicly praying for a coinflip there.
