Default Making a move based on image

I read a lot of posts that talk about tight players who early in tournies make "a move" because their image is tight. I think that less than 20% of players are actually paying attention, and that the move gets you in trouble. Not eloqueant, but agree? disagree?

Making a move with a weak hand in the early stages is suicide IMO. Most the players aren't paying attention this early in the tournament.

Making a move based on your image is pretty much taking a very expensive ego trip. You and your mom are the only two who care about your image. (The exception to this is if you have really been splashing around. The only down side of a rush of cards is that you look like a lunatic, and will not be able to steal for a while.)
