Is this the event being held at the riverrock casino? Does anyone know if there's a relatively easy way to get there (without access to a car) from downtown vancouver? Thanks!

98B express bus from downtown Vancouver, get off at "Sea Island Way" and it's a short walk. Here is a map showing both the southbound 98B stop (where you get off when you're coming from downtown Van), and the northbound stop (where you get on when you're going back), in relation to the casino:

That's Awesome MBE! How many poeple qualified? i heard there are around 50 spots left for the NL event for buying straight in. I wonder if poeple will be paying more or brokering deals to get in that one. You certainly have a hot commodity with that ticket. I will be the teenie PL touney, I got in payin the $75 Super Sat.

The supersat yesterday awarded 10 tickets. People are saying the NL event will sell out; I don't know. I've heard that the $2500 vouchers (which you get for winning a satellite) are selling for around $2200-$2300. I suppose it's possible that if the tournament sells out, the vouchers could be sold at a premium. I doubt it though. I would let mine go for $3000.

Well, apparently my Full Tilt gear was suppose to stand me out, but now I just heard that BCLC has a stipulation where no one is allowed to wear logos.

[/ QUOTE ]
Where did you hear that? I don't see anything on that topic in the General Rules [pdf]. I suspect it just applies to the televised final table. Otherwise it's impractical for them to enforce -- especially since they haven't publicized this stipulation.

Yeah several have been sold for $2300, i am sure you could get pretty close to $3K once it sells out. You should come by the PL tourney tomm and see what the action is like in terms of selling out. I'm sure it will sell out tomm as $1K is good value for a big tounament.

Yes, it will most likely be a final table stipulation if it airs on tv.

This is one of the things that really tick me off. The fact we have to fork out our own money to play, yet we are not allowed to wear whatever logo we choose.

Hi guys,

I'm strongly considering making a last minute trip up to vancover after seeing this thread.

I'd like to play both the limit event and the main event.

Do you think it would be a problem if I arrived tommorow night and tried to buy in tommorow night (thur) or friday morning?

Any recommendations on a good place to stay?

Thanks,
Lee

call 604 247 8983 tomorrow and register over the phone to ensure a spot. otherwise i would arrive two hours before the events you plan on playing to try and buyin.

i'm not from vancouver and can't recommend a place to stay, but i hope you find something. maybe the casino has a hotel. i would try ask them, at the number i gave, about accomodation when you call to register.

The casino does have a hotel, but from what I heard all the rooms are booked for the weekend.

Hi Enon,

Yup, there are seats available for the limit & no limit events. Call (604) 247-8983 for more info & ask for Darryl, the TD, Dan or Dave. Suggest you stay at the Delta on Cessna Dr. in Richmond which is a 15 minute walk from the RiverRock. Rooms are available at C$129 per night with a king-size bed for friday & saturday night. Call them at (604) 278-1241. Good luck!
