Fold QQ to a turn raise heads-up...
Hi everyone,
This is my second "how badly did I play this hand" post. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Online 0.50/1.00 game. This is my third hand that I've been dealt at the table -- the hand immediately prior I had 33 and showed trips at the end to win. This is my first time playing with the key player in this hand (the button). I'm dealt Qh Qs in MP. Folded to me. I open with a raise. Only the button and the small blind call. FLOP: Kh 8h Kd (3 players, 7 SB) SB checks. I bet. Button calls. SB folds. TURN: [Kh 8h Kd] Ad (2 players, 4.5 BB) I bet. Button raises. I fold. Did I play this too weakly? Thanks for your time, PP |

Re: Fold QQ to a turn raise heads-up...
Hey Pseudo..
Against a typical player, this is a pretty much an automatic muck on the turn. A typical opponent will not raise a preflop raiser who continued betting the flop on a board of AKK8 without at least a big ace or more likely trip kings. However, if you are up against a tricky player who would raise a picked up flush draw in this situation, you may have to pay it off, but even then you won't be losing much by mucking this hand down. In the long run, your QQ will be a losing hand the vast majority of the time. -JAA |

Re: Fold QQ to a turn raise heads-up...
It's a good fold, unless the button is a tricky player who would raise with less than an A or K. Since this is from a .5/1 game, there is a good chance that this player is not tricky (or at least that is what I would assume until I had evidence to the contrary).

Re: Fold QQ to a turn raise heads-up...
Agreed. Good fold. In my experience you are almost always beaten with this hand at these limits where any ace is played and I usually fold unless the player Im against has been very, very loose preflop (in which case I would play back at him!).
