Default Too aggressive with the nut flush draw, two overcards, and a gutshot?

Hello everyone,

2/4 game at the local indian casino. The table is loose and fairly passive, with 5-7 seeing each flop and roughly 1/5 of pots raised pre-flop.

The button is a youngish guy who claims to be a 'pot limit' player -- he's been very upset that he can't bet enough to bluff or protect his hand. He's lost the previous two hands: once with a low two-pair versus a higher two pair, and once with a busted flush when he tried to bluff out a nice little old lady who flopped a straight but never quite found the courage to bet it.

I'm in the small blind with A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. 5 callers, including the button. I call, the BB checks.

Flop: 5 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]4 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]2 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (7 players, 6.5 SB)

I bet. BB, EP, MP1, MP2 call. Button raises.
I re-raise. BB folds, EP folds, MP1 calls, MP2 folds.
Button caps. I call, MP1 calls.

Turn: A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] [5 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]4 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]2 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]] (3 players, 10 BB)

I bet. MP1 calls. Button raises all-in for $1 more. I call. MP1 calls.

River: Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] [A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]4 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]2 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]] (3 players, 13.75 BB)

I bet. MP1 shows a pair of nines and folds.

Button shows 22 for flopped bottom set, and my hand is good.

Commentary -

Pre-flop: I routinely limp with this hand from the SB.

Flop: I re-raised the button because I wanted to clean up my ace outs. I also thought the button was rather on tilt, or possibly was raising a weaker flush draw.

Turn: Hitting my ace was a good thing, so I bet. I'd have like to re-raised, but the button's all-in didn't reopen the action.

River: Pity he didn't call.

Was I too aggressive with my hand, or was this action routine?

Thanks,
PP
