5/10 only applies when you have position.

That's news to me. I can see that with sc's. But pp's shouldn't matter.

[/ QUOTE ]

it's less important with PP's played for set value, but still does apply somewhat.

"When contemplating calling a raise because your position is good, you have a clear call if the raise is less than 5% of your stack, and a clear fold if it is more than 10%. In between those numbers, use your judgement."

btw, your relative position is good for leading out.

Explain that. My gut said that MP2 was probably gonna bet something with any two. And then CO would either call or push if he had anything. CO and I have played together before...if I lead into the field, he knows I'm not bluffing into 3 players, but have a legit hand. He'd fold AK there, but if MP2 donkleads, he might call or push MP2's bet. I thought the way I played it was the best line, but would like to hear what you have to say.

And I still lean toward preflop being OK. It's $15 to call a guy who has a $166 stack. There's a bit of dead money in there, plus I expect one of MP's to come along, further sweetening things. Marginal, but OK. I think, maybe.

i think your line was fine...and it worked out well.

i read CO for a big hand, AK/QQ/JJ, bigger than MP2. if you lead, you may get a call from MP1, a call or raise from MP2, then a call or raise from CO. CO won't fold an overpair if you bet say 3/4 pot and the other two call.

the way it played out MP1 got pushed out of the hand without putting a penny in post-flop. if MP2 raise, then CO may still push thinking that you think your 99/TT is good on this flop.

shrug, i don't think it matters much and this is all speculation, but i tend to lead when i have two weak calling players between me and the person that i think has the strongest hand.

This type of action just doesn't happen online. Must have been live. Plus, who has 1/3 besides some dumb card club?

PF call is a little rough. Glad it worked out.

PP played for set value have odds of 7.5-1 against. In order to make up for those times when you put additional $4 in the pot and still lose you need to expect a return of 10X your preflop bet when you win. Obviously a preflop bet of more than 10% will decrease the likihood of achieving this goal, unless you are in a multiway pot. Sc's play better multiway and when I have a pp played for set value I'm looking for a big stack that I can double through.

I think the flop play is fine. Pre-flop, if the game is a fish fest like you described then you can easily get away from your hand and make up the $30 no sweat. The pre-flop play is very close to alive 1/2 or 2/5 donkfest where I will overpay a little to see the flop because I know my all-in is getting called by at least one person "who's gotta see it."

Your biggest mistake was not having a full buy-in Your post should be mandatory reading for these guys who buy in for the minimum at NL $200.

This must be live. First of all, I've never seen a 1-3 game online, anywhere.....ever. Secondly the donkish play sounds exactly like play that is usually only seen at a card room. I dont see why aj wont respond letting you guys know where it was though. :::Shrug:::
