Fine. You're getting 3:1 to call the river bet for 10 outs if you're behind. Nothing wrong with that.
You wanted to get as much of his money as you can, so string him along. I generally try to avoid slow-playing if the villain can improve to a hand that beats me, I would have tried to get him to fold on the flop. You can win these things small bites at a time just as well as (or better than) you can win by trying to maximize every pot, I think. (emphasis on I ) I'd expect to see anything from a pair of 7's trying to represent the flush, to something like 7 4 sooted, to a flush. In descending order of probability. Sucks if he beats you, but sometimes the bird in the bush has sharp pointy teeth... Regards Gar |
