you are not expected to know the details of every post that occurs in oot, but at least take the time to scan the front page for threads that might be on the same topic. if it's a big news event like a celebrity dying, a spreading-link-wildfire funny video link, or that sort of thing odds are high that it's been covered already. this also applies to the known repetition of existing threads. related but less interesting copycat threads are seldom welcome, and ones that obviously didn't deserve breaking off from their parent to form a new thread never are.

This is why we don't like your post This was done last month. It is funny, but we're trying to keep the clutter down to a minimum. Before you post something like this, it's a good idea to do a quick search to see if it's been done recently. Otherwise you risk people flaming you. All I did was search for "norris" in the last 3 months and I found it instantly.
