Re: Blind battle AQo
That's a fine line vs a passive opponent, the more aggressive they are the more I'm likely to show down Ace high. if you really want to know where you stand bet/fold the turn and check the river if he calls.

Re: Blind battle AQo
Good raise pre-flop.
I think I would have folded the flop, though. Seems like Villian likes his hand. If he had reraised pre-flop, then I'd consider calling down because it could just be a blind protection war. To me that doesn't seem consistent, but maybe I'm wrong. |

Re: Blind battle AQo
There is no correct answer to this hand. If you always fold here you're making a mistake, if you always call down, you're making a mistake.
Players will often raise air on the flop and bet the turn as a blind defense strategy, it puts the pressure on you to make your hand and many players don't have the HU experience to deal with it. In this situation, the K on this board is a bit threatening, but the rest of the board is pretty dead. I'd be inclined to call this down ~50% of the time. This is also giving a bit of weighting to the fact that I want to improve my read on this player. He's on our immediate left, so he has position on us, and we'll likely be HU against him quite a few times this session, so lets get some information from him while we can. If the board was something like Kd9c7d, I would give more weighting towards a fold, as there are more cards in the middle-ish defending area that he could have hit. |
