Default Foxwood/holdem question

I normally play 10:20 holdem or stud at Foxwood. I play which ever appears to be the softest game, if a different game gets good I switch. Last Thuresday something strange happened. There are normally 4 10:20 stud games going during the week and one 10:20 holdem game to choose from. This thuresday there were four of each. Why is holdem catching up with stud in Conneticut?

The imminent demise of Mohegan Sun might have something to do with it...

I'm sure that having the WSOP and WPT on television has helped increase the popularity of Hold-Em.

Because of the WPT and WSOP exposure recently on TV Hold EM is certainly becoming the game of choice at all poker venues, not just New England..Foxwoods recently canceled their 7 card stud tournament and replaced it with a NLHE tournament on Sundays...Yesterday (Saturday) I arrived at Foxwoods at 8:30 AM for the LHE tourney. They start selling seats at 9AM. They limit the seats to the 1st 200. I was #175. It was worth getting there on time (2hour drive) as I won 1st place....

I do not follow you on the Mohegan comment, do you know something that I do not?

That's why there are more players, but not right for the mix. There were always 10/20 and 20/40 stud games at Mohegan, not always so for HE.

You must be the last to know. The Mohegan poker room is closing in 2 weeks.

It might as well already be closed. I was told that most of the dealers and the floorpersons who are left will be in training for their new jobs. I already said my goodbyes to Sel and the others.
