Default Re: Dear Christians: why doesn\'t god DO something?

Firstly, there are those who argue that God HAS done something in our lifetime to manifest himself to man. Some believers point to Katrina or The Quake as proof of God's existence; non-believers point to the same as "signs" of God's detachment or apathy towards man. The point is, miracles by themselves neither can nor will lead you to belief. What can then you may ask. I dont know what can make you believe. I do believe however that there are Christians who have seen something that has persuaded them. Nothing they saw can persuade you, and hopefully nothing you say can dissuade them. Im inclined to believe that there must be some true willingness to believe in the possibility of Christ's claims before one can begin to see them in any objective light. Maybe it's the slight sarcasm but i get the impression that most people upon seeing some grand "miracle" in the sky will shrug it off as some scientific anomaly and proceed to jeer at Christians claiming it as some act of God. You seek a miracle, but the miracle has already happened. You must but see it. The sign of Jonah. Jonah, by the way, was swallowed by a whale and stayed in his belly for three days. Take it as you may.
