I really hate that idea. Seems like a push is the classic win a little/lose a lot move.

you'd be surprised what people will call with

i hate counting on being called by complete donks. i usually assume that my opponents are halfway decent until proven otherwise and any decent player who calls here likely has you beat.

I agree. It is possible, maybe even likely considering the stakes, that I'll get called by someone with junk. But realize, there are 4 of them and any one could easily wake up with a hand.

leads for 300.

I think that is well within the range of moves to make now that you are in this spot. It would have been nicer if the pot was a bit smaller, especially given your position though (maybe something to think about).

Not getting involved at all or betting anything less than 1/2 the pot is just too weak, but the person making that comment about not getting involved is at least correct that you don't want to get *overinvolved* in this pot at this point of the tournament (which is why I don't like the pot bet either and would prefer to not be in this situation right now with a pot this big in the first place).

Here was my thought. I think I have the best hand, but I'm not sure. And with so many people behind me I wanted to check and see what developed.
My plan is to c/r or call and pop the turn.

Without a doubt. I mainly posted to see if anyone felt the check was too weak, considering I was OOP. I wasn't afraid to play aggressively if it became HU, though.

My preflop bet I expected to take the blinds or get 1-2 callers. When it became 5 handed, I got weak/tight.

Hero thanks his lucky stars that he checked and avoided this clusterfuck-waiting-to-happen.

like someone else said, even if you're ahead now (a very big if), TPTK with no clubs is not the hand i want to go broke with here.

checking the flop is NOT weak-tight given the board, your position, and the # of opponents, especially if you're planning to check-raise or check-call and then lead-bet a non-club/non-broadway turn card.

being tight-aggressive certainly doesn't obligate you to senselessly charge into a potentially dangerous situation with a very vulnerable hand.

I can't remember what one player had (I think it was Ax), but the other two players had Ac Qc and 9 9.

Turn came a club, river paired the board.
