Default Laptop Choice -Under $500

I am considering getting a laptop to play poker, do some basic computing, watch movies on the road etc. Don't need a gaming system, just something that I can work on that isn't slow as dirt. Both Circuit City and Best Buy are offering Toshibas below $500, I need some advice on which one is best for the money. I am leaning toward the Circuit City deal because of the larger HD and RAM, but wanted some of you tech experts to help me.

Circuit City Toshiba

Best Buy Toshiba

Best Buy Gateway - Late Addition

That TV is crap. Have you ever seen a Westinghouse up next to really any other brand? Of course you said it's for your parents and not for you so you probably don't care all that much about quality.

I, personally would either save my money or spring a little more for something other than Westinghouse. On the other hand though, for $500, it is kind of hard to beat.

I don't have the ad infront of me, but I believe it was an internet special so no waiting in lines at 2AM. Also be aware that $250 of the discount comes from 12 month AOL service.

I may be thinking of a different laptop though?
