Somebody asked him this same question one time on UB, and he said he was sleeping.

It's a pain waiting for the tournaments to start and for them to seat you, so my guess is just decides to skip it.

He probably is on another board posting about what people like us do when we are late for work. Either that or watching Bill Fillmaff videos.

You know he loves being a big enough name in the poker world to be parodied.

I know that Chris Ferguson has said that if sleeping an extra hour makes you play better, then you should get the extra rest and skip the first hour. I've also seen pros play late at night online to make sure that they don't go to bed too early when they have a full day of tournament poker ahead of them.

That being said, I think Hellmuth likes the attention of making a late entrance. He may also dislike the crowds and business and potential delays you find at the beginning of a tournament. And he may have once overslept for a tournament, showed up late, and won and now he is superstitious about showing up late.

This afternoon I asked my mom what I had for lunch. She answered with, "I needed to eat lunch because I was hungry."

I'm sorry, I can't help it. Why people are responding without even reading the OP is astounding to me.

Ive heard that he was late on the first day of the 1989 WSOP Main Event, and since he won that, he thinks showing up late is lucky.
