the signal to noise ratio at RGP is pretty bad... but there is no order there.

If you put all the topics in one group... rather then segementing them (as you do on here).. there would be a lot of nonsense on here as well.

I am under no illusions that the quality of posters on here are far superior to the ones on RGP... and the math/analysis here outstrips that place to about the Nth degree.

I dont think people should be looked down on because they dont have "carpel" status, or dont post 100 times a day.

Agreed. Usually we care about the quality of the post.

I used to post in RGP for many years, when it was worth to do so.

Ok, I'm a nice guy 2players/1hand

This may explain our apathy to you, rabble-rouser. (that and that you have 6 posts, all of which happen to be in this thread)

I agree that it isn't what it was.. but I do not think that this particular issue should be treated with the aloof-ness that is seems to be getting at the moment.

No-one is in any doubt that if you want to learn poker.. this is better at the moment then RGP.

Maybe moderating RGP would resolve that.. but that is not the issue.

Neither is the lack of material on RGP.

All that matters in this thread is that a well respected person and poker author is tag teaming tournaments... apprently with people like Bill Chen and Matt Matros.

This is not fair or right.

I'm waiting the response for all the strangers in this post.

Is the following statement accurate?

I have never, ever, given advise or received it while playing a hand in the internet.

[/ QUOTE ]

I'll bite.....have people watched me play poker from over my shoulder and given their opinion on what they thought I should do. I am sure this has happened. Interestingly...none of these people over my shoulder have ever known 1/10th of what I know about poker...but nonetheless...I am sure they have given their opinion...

Have I EVER conversed with someone over the phone, AIM, or other communication while they were on the same table or tournament with me. NFWAY.

Two people playing from ONE player is one thing....conversations between players in the same game or tourney that NO ONE else is privy to....well gee...that sounds like cheating to me.

Well my last post got lost so I hope this one goes through.

First, your question better not be just for the 'strangers' because it would be nice to hear some of the goofball responders answer truthfully since they are so apathetic to the situation.

As far as me, I've never asked or received help while playing a hand.

What I have done is share my hole cards with a buddy not playing in the game that is railbirding me so he isn't in suspense wondering what I am overbetting. :P Anyone that may be on the receiving end of that info knows not to give me any advice because they too are players with ethics. They will give me crap when the hand is over for fishing my way to a rivered flush or straight but that's fodder for another thread.

OK How about you sirio11? Ever given or taken advice while playing online? Any other veterans around here?

You're right. I apologize to anyone that I offended. It's just there were some pretty lame responses that took this way off topic early on and rather than respond to the issue we had things like 'fvck class' and 'nh?'.
