Razor thin value bets
I'm confused on my river line, should I take a free showdown? Does anyone know how to convert HHs from InterPoker? Opponents seem pretty typical, Villain1 is very passive and Villain2 is pretty loose though.
Seat 2: Villain1 ($14.44 in chips) Seat 4: Villain2 ($29.08 in chips) Seat 6: Hero ($20.50 in chips) SB: posts small blind $0.15 BB: posts big blind $0.25 ----- HOLE CARDS ----- dealt to Hero [Ts Td] Villain1: calls $0.25 1 fold Villain2: calls $0.25 1 fold Hero: raises $0.50 3 folds Blinds fold, limpers call Preflop is textbook I think. ----- FLOP ----- [7c Qd 9s] Both check Hero: bets $0.25 Both call They check to me, so I figure my tens are still good. ----- TURN ----- [7c Qd 9s][6c] Both check Hero: bets $0.50 Both call Another low card is good, although there's a flush draw on the board now as well as a lot of cards together for weird straights. ----- RIVER ----- [7c Qd 9s 6c][Kc] Both check Hero: bets $0.50??? Club draw comes in, and another overcard comes, along with filling any flopped open ended straight draws. Should I check behind here? I just don't see being called by 88 or a naked 7 or 9? |

Re: Razor thin value bets
I probably check. Too many hands beat you. They see the straight and flush chances too. I don't think your getting called by a worse hand with both of them showing no aggression throughout the hand. With all the scare cards on the board, take the free showdown and be happy if you win. If you bet, your going to have to lay it down to a raise, so why not see the showdown?

Does anyone know how to convert HHs from InterPoker? [/ QUOTE ] By hand. It isn't hard. As for the hand, I think I'd bet/fold the river - with no reads on what villains show down I'm guessing, though. |

Check behind on the river. They're not calling with a hand you beat.

Re: Razor thin value bets
That's what I did. Villain1 called with QTc (???) and Villain2 check raised with 83c. Then Villain1 called the raise.

Re: Razor thin value bets
With one player, I definitely bet. With two, I had to think some more. You're less likely to be good, but if they both call, you're getting a better overlay on your bet, so you don't have to be good all that often. Really, though, if they both call, you're virtually never winning. That's what tipped it for me. I think this is a check.

Re: Razor thin value bets
grunch..
interpoker is party, so I think the standard converter should work. if these are standard calling stations, then we should bet. They may be staying with an underpair. If they are tricky, then maybe check it down is better. If bet and raised, then we should fold. We profit more from a bet/fold line as we expect calling stations to call with marginal hands more than the the times we get checkraised, lose the bet and have to fold. Again, this depends on the opponent. |

I would check behind here and take a free showdown.
