Default Need Music Software Suggestion for Mixing

Hey, I'm googling this too, but I figure somebody here might be able to suggest something that suits my needs.

I'm looking for a program that will let me fade songs into each other (like for dance mixes, etc.). It'd also be swell if it could remove channels from a track (like taking out a track's vocal track, etc.).

Thanks.
