I played party for the first time in months for the bonus last night and this morning. Compared to Party low levels everything is a rock garden.

[ QUOTE ]
The software is a slow and can bog down sometimes

[/ QUOTE ]
Everyone talks about how the software is slow but I don't read many complaints about how it looks. How do you like the visual interface? I think it hard to follow the game. Maybe it will get easier if I get used to it. Anyone else find that?

Exactly. >1 table is a surefire lock-up for me. Support told me to uninstall any anti-virus software among other "useful" solutions.

I've been building my roll on AP since I won some money off a free roll there. The SnGs, even at the lower levels are rock gardens. Still beatable, still some fish, but all too often even at the 7s I am seeing 6 people at 200/400 blinds, decent bubble play, stealing etc.

I hate their software, locks up a ton. Don't even think about multi-tabling.

As soon as I learn how to play the smaller stack SnGs (you get 1500 on AP) I'm heading to PP.

How much ram? Which OS?

I routinely play 3 tables, listen to Real Playerm, run PT, a spreadsheet, spysweeper, AIM, Netscape (and the email client), and several other programs. Since I jumped to 1gig of RAM ($87) it's been fine and dandy as long as I don't try AP, UB, and Interpoker at the same time.

XP SP2, 512 mb RAM. This machine has no issues with other sites. When this occurs, the Absolute "logging process" (ho.exe) is writing out vast amounts of data. It usually writes small amounts. I assume something makes it go crazy under certain cirumstances when >1 table is open.

I'm GUESSING it has something to do with AP not keeping images locally, being in the same seat (really screws up hand histories), and having the preselected actions hit very close together.

Broadband or dialup?

AP is a total rock garden. Playing their 1/2 full ring limit games are a joke. 23-25% see the flop. On stars or any ther site for that matter, it is common to have 30-35% seeing the flop.

DSL. The hand history thing for being in the same seat is because they don't put table names in the hand histories. Pre-selected actions might have be it, but I have no idea really. Anyway, plenty of other sites to give my rake to.
