Aaron Davidson one of the authors of Poki, wrote on the Poki Yahoo group that they will not be competing. Apparently he contacted the people hosting it to try and get in but they wouldn't let his team play. Doesn't seem like a fair contest when the premiere Poker AI research group isn't allowed to compete.

This really sucks... Eventually we will be playing these softwares how sick is that.

Online poker could be struggling in a few years, if it is possible to make a good "machine". (which it definately is)
