Anyone knows what is up with Gus Hansen ? Haven't heard much about him lately.

[/ QUOTE ]

best part of the professor, the banker, and the suicide king.
Andy beal demands game of 100,000-200,000 and just gets done destroying chip reese for 8 million dollars in the morning session. He then beats on Hamid Damistachi who's downing corona after corona with all the pros watching their bankroll becoming steadily depleted. Now they're looking for another player...Gus goes, "I think I'm ready. Put me in. If I lose 2 million that's it I'm done."

He loses 2 million and quits.

YEAH GUS YEAH!!

After I read that part of Gus I could not stop laughing. You don't picture Gus being scared..especially with his hyper aggro style in NLH tourneys, but just hilarious how he set himself a limit of his losses and then proceeded to bluff off that amount and quit.

did this happen? link?

yea i remember reading that when i sifted through the book.

i think it's rather naive to give Gus hell for that, given the variance of HU holdem and the fact that 2 million is a scant 10BB in the 100k-200k game.

Despite the fact that's a ridiculous amount of money, it's 10 bbs in a HU match, nothin bwoy.

Yo that's not what i said. I'm not giving him crap about anything. I found it humorous he set himself a limit of 2 million, for a 100k-200k game. And then when he proceeded to lose that much over one hand..it's like OK i'm OUT. Jen get back in here. It's kinda like when you see your newbie friend play..sit in the 2/4 game at the Trop with 20 bucks and pretty much lose it all.

He might not be 'broke' but he could be in deep debt for all we know and got staked.

I've seen him playing 4 tables of 100/200 actually....but just because I saw him playing biggish money online doesn't mean he's doing great.
Of course, it doesn't mean he ISN'T doing great either.

He was on national TV in Denmark last night explaining some basic stuff about poker and a little about himself.

He is going to play the Danish championship this weekend.
