AOL instant messanger question

I live in an apartment with a wireless internet connection. Our connection here doesn't seem that stable but it's not that big a deal. Whenever my roomates or I are signed onto AOL IM the connection occasionally shorts out and the IM client signs off then automatically signs back on. It's no big deal but recently when I'm signed onto AOL, it has just signed off and said connection lost. It then did not try to reconnect itself. I like to be always on AIM and this messes it up.

Are there any options that i messed with that stopped it from signing back on? Was it something I did to anger god? Anyway, thanks in advance.
