he cant have AK? and i know it was meant to be a post about something other than how you played the hand. i just didnt think that part was as interesting as you not 3 betting the turn.

[/ QUOTE ]

3-bet preflop, so almost definitely no. KQ mucks on the flop.

i dont understand...
why didnt you reraise turn or raise the river?
???

How many possible holdings do I beat? How many possible holdings beat me?

Now you understand.

Josh

[/ QUOTE ]well, even straight forward opponents will usually put in some action with a fourflush on the flop... and given this steal situation, any K or J could CR that turn, no? not in this game?
seems like a K is more likely than a flush due to the flop checkcall so i think you shouldve raised the river, especially since you can surely fold yo a threebet, but ok. fine. hes exxxtremely tight passive. i get it.

See my response to Mike...AK threebets preflop, any other king likely folds the flop, except KJ.

When the K comes, a Jack prolly doesn't checkraise the turn. This is a tight passive table, not an aggressive party 30-60 game.

Maybe it changes things if I say that "they" wasn't a "they" or even a "he", but a "she". Maybe it doesn't, too.

Your post is entirely results oriented. If you do some math, you'll realize that threebetting the turn is bad poker.

Stop your results oriented thinking and do some math, or play 1/2.

One of the ways to "make up for it postflop" is to make +EV bets on every street. I don't think a turn 3-bet is +EV here.

not even if the small blind COLD CALLED as OP posted?

OP changes his mind when everyone berates him, and said SB 3bet, which is it?

Did you think about it? Or did you just think "omg trips" and have your thinking assisted by the results?
