Football pools -- total point combinations (list of frequencies)

This will come in handy if you are planning to join one of those pools that determines the winner based on the last digit of each team's score.

Point combinations of all games (not just Super Bowls) from 1990-2002, in order of the percentage of the time each combo appears:

(For example, the final score has been 7-0, or 10-7, or 17-10, or 20-17, or 27-10, etc., a total of 7.8% of the time. Meanwhile, the final score has been 11-9, or 19-11, or 21-9, or 31-9, or 99-1, etc., only 1% of the time.)

How does this help? The numbers aren't assigned until all the squares have been bought, unless there's a total dumbass running the pool.

After the numbers get assigned you see that you have a 0 and a 76 and go running around the house screaing "I got a 7.8 percent chance of winning! YES!" - followed by puzzled looks of everyone at the party.

In some pools, the numbers are assinged before you buy your square(s).

But even in pools not run by total dumbasses, you could trade/buy/sell squares after the numbers are assigned, no?

In some pools, the numbers are assinged before you buy your square(s).

A few years ago I was at a party where the numbers were on before people bought squares. I was one of the first people and bought up all the good squares, won 3 out of 4 quarters and everyone was pissed. It is a pretty dumb way to do it as there is no way to get people to buy squares when there are only 2s, 5s, and 9s left.

these are just the final scores, right. I would imagine that scores like 00,07,and 37 are much, much more valuable for pools that pay quarterly.
