Re: I check behind flop and get blasted
[ QUOTE ]
So you want to guess for all your chips on a QQx flop with 88? I can't believe that will be more profitable than calling down a super LAG. My general plan is basically to check behind on paired flops around 95% of the time HU. Do you think that's terrible? I think it really helps me make a lot of money and save a lot of money. [/ QUOTE ] For this particular hand, against this player, I like your line of checking behind on the flop. But why wouldn't you want to take the betting lead more than 5% of the time? (I'm also assuming you mean if the board is over-paired to your pocket pair...) |

Check/raised. He probably would have check/raised any hand on this flop. Quite possibly all-in.

don't forget that we are subconciously affected by how the hand was posted.

Hand 1-- played very well...you just gotta call and the money is yours.
Hand2-- I fold b/c you're only beating AK |

Re: I check behind flop and get blasted
hand 1 he has any trips, weird bluff, or JT. very rarely does he have 99 or Q9, I call in a heartbeat.
hand 2 I dont like the flop check, and much more of a fold argument. Still, it's werid to see someone fastplay a boat that much, but I doubt he has a draw. you are getting a pretty good price, although you could be drawing dead. flip a coin, i guess. |

If he calls, I probably dont put more money, unless an ace hits, then I'll bet (bluff) or a queen hits (I'll put him on a lower boat before 9x, so atleast I'll see showdown) or 8 hits (and I go stack with underboat) |

Re: I check behind flop and get blasted
Overstated--yeah, I agree. But I've been successful raising on the button when it is folded to me. I'm probably doing this over 70% of the time and winning the hand a lot of times preflop.
There are times, however, when I will do it less or not at all. Mainly when I'm up against folks who defend their blinds well or when there is a maniac at the table or when I'm not playing well or running badly. But, in general, yes I've been raising any two successfully when folded to on the button. My flop aggression ain't that high either. |

Re: I check behind flop and get blasted
If you bet and fold to a check raise against this guy you are flushing money down the drain. He has a random hand.
