Re: Dogs must die
Is this in England?
Does anyone know if the Constitution provides for the criminal punishment of animals? |

Re: Dogs must die
Dogs that attack people, especially young children, should be killed. It's amazing this had to go to court.
[ QUOTE ] 2. What if the dog is not destroyed painlessly??? [/ QUOTE ] So what? |

Re: Dogs must die
[ QUOTE ]
1. Is the judgement right or wrong? [/ QUOTE ](FYP) It is correct. If a human committed this act they would serve time either in jail or a mental health facility, to be "rehabilitated" or "treated". However with a dog, both of these options are useless. [ QUOTE ] 2. What if the dog is not destroyed painlessly? [/ QUOTE ](FYP) In a civilized society death will be painless. |

Presumably not as a punishment but to prevent the risk of future suffering to humans. This should be obvious, and yet note the repsonses to Sklansky's recent dog post. I like to look at where a model can be applied. |

Re: Dogs must die
[ QUOTE ]
Dogs that attack people, especially young children, should be killed. It's amazing this had to go to court. [/ QUOTE ] No matter what the person (children included) did to provoke the dog? You do realize that some dogs are trained for that reason alone? I have no comment on the OP's question, I love dogs and am biased. But the above statement doesn't take into account any situations, just a blanket statement. A dog being poked with a stick will attack. A dog defending it's owners home from a thief will attack, which is right and which is wrong? |
