Default chew @ table

now that smoking is not allowed in casinos, do you know any players that chew (tobacco) at the poker table? this is a great thing to get into.

he he great topic. I have actually seen it once, in a swedish pokerroom. (Swedes are somewhat known for having a lot of tobacco-chewers)

Personally as an heavily ex-smoker, I can understand it. Before I could easily miss 5-10 pct. of all hands when playing poker, because I had to go out for a smoke. Off course I would advise players (and everybody else) to quit smoking. And even if you won't quit I would still prefer nicotine-chweing gum - but still for smoking players, chewing tobacco might be good way to concentrate on the play.

I was under the impression that chewing tobacco was even worse for your health than smoking it.

at most card rooms chewing tobacco is perfectly legal, spitting however is not.

edit: but what does this have to do with televised poker?

alot of folks are putting the dip between their toes now so they get nicotine and don't have to smoke or spit. still pretty nasty, i bet they go thru some socks.

Not for the other players it isn't. It's pretty disgusting when they start spitting that [censored] into a coffee cup.

a couple points...

who the hell puts chew between their toes? i have never, ever heard of this method before. i dont' want to waste any chew putting it in with my toejam to try it out.

are you sure you're not allowed to spit into a cup at the casinos? you're allowed to drink at the tables, why can't you have a spitter there?

thirdly, ya it would gross out your opponents. isn't that a good thing? i think it'd start putting in upper deckers (top lip) cause that just looks really ridiculous. i can just picture myself now at the WSOP on ESPN with a huge top deck gagger in looking like a complete fool.

i put this is the televised poker forum because i was wondering if anyone had seen anyone on tv chewing. but now it has evolved into chewing at the poker table in general.

Best post I've ever read. Being a long time chewer, I would love to see casinos allow it. I have yet to see someone put in a lipper during a televised tourney, but if they did, they would be my new favorite player.

I think that anyone who chews at the table is a sick sick bastard and it shouldn't be allowed. No bias here though
