what do I raise in the BB with?

Hi,

I'm training HU on stars. I'm doing well on the button raising 68% of the time. I raise basically any paint or pair and decent suited connector. I feel really in charge of the hand after I raise preflop and can get free cards and value bet, etc.

My problem is that I feel uncomfortable in the BB. I only raise 21% of the time and that seems way too non-aggressive for me. The problem is that I fear raising pre-flop and missing then being faced with a decision to bet or check. Now if I bet and he calls I gained no information. If I check and he bets I don't gain much. If I check and he checks then I gain alot of information.

I guess what I want to do is to make him check his mediocre hands when I miss and bet/call his mediocre hands when I hit.

If he is passive, then I will want to bet any pair or overcards. If he is aggressive I will want to check-raise alot so he is afraid to bet everytime I check to him.

Any tips?
