Default AC at Thanksgiving

Ive a question for some AC regulars. My girlfriend and I will be on the show for T-day weekend and she is trying to make plans for the weekend. Since I am only allotted 1 day period and 1 night period (she's a little anal retentive) for gaming this trip, what would you recommend for my night? Thursday or Friday? Any recommendations for rooms other than Borgota?

Basically, whats the holiday in AC look like?

Thanksgiving can be a weird one there. Thursday during the day things are a little quiet (and somewhat depressing). Thursday night mostly locals and the pros will be out. Friday will be a circus of massive proportions.

At least that was my experience last year. My folks were in Australia, my brother was in Detroit at his wife's, my uncle was in Fla. with my grandfather, and I was a turkey day orphan...wooohooo off to AC I went. Had T-Day dinner with a couple Borgata poker dealers and a cocktail waitress at one of their houses. Then we got hammered and played 2-4 at the taj with lonely old men, capped everyhand in the dark and drove them nuts. I bought in to the game for $400 all in white and actually made $80 playing like a fool.

I guess that the answer depends on what games and limits you play. Since I play limit for the most part, I go to Borgata, Sands, Showboat, and Resorts. If I played stud or Omaha, I would add the Taj and Trop to the list. Besides Borgata, the hotels that I mentioned are pretty nice. The Sands is in need of renovation but the friendly atmosphere helps.

Its an unfortunate typo for "on the shore". Her family has a place in Margate.

I play 4/8 LHE and 1/2 NLHE but I'll branch into anything juicy in that general price range.

Then they probably say "down the shore."

was at the borgata last thanksgiving weekend, it was absolutely apesh[/b]it on friday and saturday - typical holiday weekend, by dinnertime lists in the triple digits for all low-limit games, 50+ for mid-limit games - get there early and get a seat, or play somewhere else that day
