Default high stakes poker on gsn?

saw an ad for this it looks like it could potentially be good if it's really just those guys playing a ring game with their own money and not lame tournament crap. maybe theyll even play other games like 2-7 or plo? or am i just getting my hopes up only to have them dashed?

i cant stand poker on tv because i really dislike tournaments, will this show be the one for me??

If you want somewhat of a spoiler for some of the action check out http://www.fullcontactpoker.com/poker-journal.php. About 20 or so entries down Daniel blogs 3 days of action.

The announcing team for High Stakes Poker on GSN is AJ Benza (former hack gossip reporter) and Gabe Kaplan, which certainly is a step up from previous GSN announce teams.

Default Why would they agree to do this?

Tournaments are one thing- with the editing and stack-specific moves, you're not giving away a ton of information if people see your hands.

Why does it make sense for the pros to do this cash game on TV? What are they getting out of it that makes it worthwhile?

They could have Joe Theisman and a can (a can, not a bottle) of Snapple do the announcing and it'd be a step up.
