Default calling with any two?

party 15 game.

posters in the HJ and CO and hero is in the BB.

UTG1 raises, foldsss to hero getting 5.67:1 on his call.

This hand came up and I had 42o and had the autofold button on right after the preflop raise. Thinking about it afterwards should this be call HU as there is a fair chance our equity in this pot is much greater than 17%?

That's 17% to win at showdown, right? You'll be putting 50% of the money in postflop to do so. Unless you flop a great hand, I don't see how it won't be very difficult to navigate this being out of position. In position, a different story. I agree your range is wide open given the dead money from the posters, but not any 2.

Overvalue-ing our hand I think. Now if UTG raised all in BAM!

I don't hate the call, but I don't know how to show if it's +EV or not. Any reads on UTG? Like his raising standards and whatnot? I'm not sure I'd call "any" two, but I'd probably call hands like 32s, 54o, T7o, etc.

if hes raising all in call

you arent going to make anything worthwhile very often, so i fold here, especially since the raiser was from early position, while you will hit a pair 1 in 3 times, it wont hold up very often

what are you looking to hit that you will take to showdown?

the fact that you will have to most likely pay extra bets to take a pair of 2s to showdown against ace high or something, while he could have a pair himself makes this a fold i think

You are kidding, right?

Your implied odds are complete crap here.

Fold.
