Default female broadcasters

they had a woman doing the penn st game today, i think her name was pam ward. i found this interesting b/c i haven't many female football broadcasters, particularly at the level of big 10. i watched part of the game, she was ok, got excited at the right times (very exciting 4th quarter). anyone else catch this?

She does games frequently.

I assume she's good since being female is a significant barrier to being hired as a football anouncer.

I thought she was terrible, if she is the one who did the PSU-Northwestern game. She made a lot of mistakes, like this one:

Repeatedly saying "that was Penn State's first first down" on their second one, after the first one was a play a few minutes earlier with a very close measurement on 4th down, easy to remember. Finally somebody corrected her in her ear, so she corrects herself by saying "that was their second SECOND down".

Commenting about stupid girl stuff like "that sideline is very visible, in the bright lavendar, er purple, tones."

[/ QUOTE ] The only thing girly about Pam Ward are the women she dates.

However, I think she would get better games if she wasn't a woman. She is better than most play-by-play announcers on ESPN.

I'd take any 3 random female announcers over the pathetic treesome ESPN has doing the Sunday night game.
At least lose Paul and JoeT. They are absolutely the worst.

I used to be against having female broadcasters/analysts, because I thought they would be too "cutesy" or sneak feminism into the broadcasts. But I think they do a pretty good job.
