Default ING Direct question

I remember seeing a post about this bank, however i those terms are hard to search for. The site says its FDIC insured, is there a way to verify this independently? For those of you using it as a way to help ur Bankroll with a bit of interest, ahve u had a good experience with them? eg low fees, good service, prompt payment or transfers, do they have a anyform of debit cards? any info or links ot previous discussion would be greatly appreciated... thanks

ING is a huge company. You have no worries.

Their government certificate is here:

Ive had an account there for over a year. No problems whatsoever.

Only thing is, you must have a regular, brick and mortar bank account to attach to your ING account. Deposits and withdrawls are made through those other banks.

If you want a true internet bank, you want NetBank.

ING Direct is part of ING Group, a giant conglomerate. (Somewhere along the line ING either used to be or merged with/sucked up Aetna, the insurance behemoth. They do insurance, banking, and asset management, which is code for churning huge fees from old-money blue hairs.)

While I wouldn't touch their insurance/annuity products, they are unutterably flush. As of Oct., 2004, ING Group had $1.4 trillion in assets. ING Direct USA has 1.5 million account holders and $19 billion in deposits and is the fastest growing "bank."

A collapse would be unthinkable right now, but I thought that about Enron, WorldCom and Bre-X, too.

If it makes you feel any better, I've had decent money there and they've never messed up. They'll shuttle it anywhere you'd like efficiently and rapidly. No problems ever.

I love ING direct. Everything seems to run smooth and the interest rate is top shelf. If you are going to sign up, you can get an extra 25 if someone refers you. Ask on here, or PM if you want refered.

They have always done good by me. They always have very good rates, quick bank transfers(2 days), and the CSR's have always been helpful in a timely manner.

You need a real checking account to set up your ING account. After that, you can set ING as your account linked to neteller by giving neteller the routing and account numbers for ING. The one problem is that neteller only allows one connected account. Therefore, to actually spend winnings, they have to go pokersite->Neteller->ING->checking account, which will take a few days.
