Capped pf with JJ
9/18 live at the Mecca. MP opens while a very loose-passive coldcalls. I 3-bet with J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. Button calls three bets cold. Folded back to MP who caps it like she means it. All call. Four to the flop.
FLOP: K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]7 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] MP bets. All call. TURN: 5 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] MP bets. Loose-passive calls... What would be best? |

Re: Capped pf with JJ
Call so long as it is only one bet on each street. If it is too bets, look at who made it two bets. Fold at any point if the loose passive raises or bets.

[ QUOTE ]
what's the MP like? [/ QUOTE ] Off duty dealer chick from another casino. Plenty aggressive but certainly not the usual fishiness of a dealer. Loose-passive is...well, very loose-passive. Almost shy. Button is unknown. All I know is that he cold-calls too much. |

But seriously, if you think MP is a reasonable player, I raise the turn. If she calls out of desperation she has AA or QQ and you're done with this hand unless you boat up (d-uh). If she 3-bets, you're done with this hand immediately. I don't like folding here especially if there's a glimmer of hope that she'll fold QQ (or AA, but that's not going to happen). Would she play like this with TT or AQs? Probably not. But I still think you have enough fold equity to take a shot with a turn raise. |

Much more often than not you're against AA, AK, KK, QQ than TT/AQ here, so I'd fold |

Re: Capped pf with JJ
Hi Box,
That's what I'm thinking, to raise. If I simply call, I'll have to call the river. I don't want to fold, well, because folding means I lose. Supposing that no one has a king, what would my intention be? If I raised out button, and MP calls (as would loose-passive maybe), what is my action on the river? Free showdown? |

Re: Capped pf with JJ
Given the pot size, if MP is capable of folding, great time to raise as loose passive may have a K, but probably not, and you're in a protected pot with LP. Calling down sucks as I just see almost nothing (maybe a very aggressively played AQ/TT, but doubting both) that you beat here vs MP, to say nothing of LP. So if you think there is a good chance MP can lay down QQ/AA here to a raise in a protected pot, go for it. Otherwise, I'd fold.
