40-80 at the Wynn. Floor decision....
I am in the SB and post 20 dollars. Fold to middle position, fold to me, I notice I have been dealt one card. The table starts arguing about whether it is a misdeal, or I should be given a card. The floorman is called. He first asks the raiser if a misdeal okay, the raiser says he prefers it not be. He then calls another floorman talks to her a bit, and then makes the following ruling:
That I must play short. Meaning I do not get another card and my blind stays in the pot. At this point the table erupts. I demand to see the rulebook. He says that is his final ruling and walks away. After a while I realize no rulebook is coming. I go ask the second floorman present why I was not provided with the rulebook when I requested it. She says she will go get it. She later returns to the table and says the rulebook is in several large binders and she cannot bring it out for me! Talk about amateur hour over there. Finally the dealer who was at the table and saw all this went and got the shift manager himself. She did eventually correct the ruling and gave the raiser the $20 (which he had returned to me), and comped me some things. She also offered to bring me the rulebook if I still wanted it. The Wynn poker room is nice but their floor crew seemed pretty clueless most of the time, and in this case totally ignorant of Nevada gaming laws. |

Re: 40-80 at the Wynn. Floor decision....
sorry but the floor decision was correct. they know more than you.
From Roberts Rules: [ QUOTE ] MISDEALS 1. The following circumstances cause a misdeal, provided attention is called to the error before two players have acted on their hands. (e) An incorrect number of cards has been dealt to a player, except the top card may be dealt if it goes to the player in proper sequence. 2. Once action occurs, a misdeal can no longer be declared. The hand will be played to conclusion, and no money will be returned to any player whose hand is fouled. In button game, action is considered to occur when two players after the blind have acted on their hands [/ QUOTE ] |

Re: 40-80 at the Wynn. Floor decision....
the wynn is GREAT with all this. last week i was playing in the 15/30 there and had A5 on an A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] T [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] board. On the river we were HU and the poor little azn lady called my 5th bet. I announced and showed I had a boat and she flipped over K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] and said 'NUT FLUSH!'. The dealer didnt even look at the cards and pushed the pot to the lady... just saying the word 'nut' wins you a pot I guess.
I think the casino is very nice and the staff are good people. They just really need better dealers. -Ryan |

I think the floor, while haphazard in explaining things to you, made the right decision.

I was playing 15/30 at about 5 am after being there for 12 hours or so.. so needless to say I was tired. It gets to showdown I flip over my cards and have like top pair or something for the winner, the other guy goes "GOD" takes his cards up and is looking at them right next to his face, then I didn't realize it but the dealer swaps a card out of the muck and puts a King instead of a 9 or something.. the guy slams down his cards and goes two pair.. I think omg this guy just slow rolled me.. Then the dealer informs me that he took the king out of the muck.. I was like uh don't do that to me at 5 am in the morning. |

That is nuts. At least they made up for it in the end, but what a ridiculous initial ruling.
