Default another \"what would you do\"?

$1500 buy-in live tournament

You are in mid-late position with 10 10

Blinds are 100 200 (forgot if there was an ante - hand was told to me by friend)

You have about 6k and make it 600 to go

SB (who had already shown that he liked to make his money coming over the top of suspect preflop raises) also has about 6k and makes it 2800

BB (a tight, unimaginative, but not tricky player) also has about 6k and flat calls the 2800

What our hero did was different from what i would have done and further 2 excellent tournament players said a third option was clearly correct

Please help Shrek out

I'm probably folding here...we might be all right against SB here since he has been kind of loose, but the call from the BB for almost half his stack?!...I'm thinking im behind here...altho i'm a n00b...so see what others say

Tight guy with 30 BB calls for half his stack to a 10xBB re-raise. Seems like the best hope we could have is to isolate BB by going all-in and shutting down SB's steal (if that's what it is) and taking the 55-45 odds against BB's AK.

Since BB's range extends beyond AK to AA & KK, and since SB's hand is not necessarily worse than ours, that's a -EV move.

If SB has a lower pocket pair and is pot committed, and BB has AKo, then we're a 46% dog to triple up and should call. Against three overcards (ie AK & AQ) we're 46% If SB has something like A9s, we're 55%, but he won't call with that, even getting 5-1.

But KK/AA is as likely as AK for BB, probably more likely, against which we're 20% even if SB calls with a pp worse than ours.

So let's assume a SB call with a hand worse than ours and both blinds go all-in. I see our equity as .5 * .45 + .5*.2 = .325, and this is optimistic.

So I fold.

Given the BBs cold call, I can see nothing other than a fold here.

Gotta fold here. Even if you lay down the best hand preflop I can't see a call here.

Grunch:

Fold - I can't see you being the favorite here vs two players. BB as described is NOT squeezing (didn't raise) and is probably hoping for more action. 3XBB open raises are to see where you are - here you are behind IMO.
