Nasty spyware.. What now?
Some nasty spyware got on to my computer while I was searching the internet and I tried to clean it up with Microsoft anti spyware to no avail.
I have run the scan numerous times and quarantined the viruses and spyware that were found and rebooted. Now my computer won't connect to the internet and I cannot get rid of the desktop background that has SPYWARE DETECTED. I am horrible with computers, so whats the next step for a noob like me? |

Re: Nasty spyware.. What now?
If you can't connect to the internet it's going to be pretty tough.
You could try a repair install of windows. If/when you get an internet connection, the following should clear 98% of spyware: 1) Download/install Adaware and Spybot 2) UPDATE THE DEFINITIONS!!! 3) Reboot in safe mode 4) Run both programs one after the other. Do full system scans. Check the setting so that you are doing the most thorough scans possible. 5) If you still have problems, ctrl + alt + del and write down all the processes that are running. Google them to see if they are legit and to find instructions for manual removal if they are spyware. Good luck. |
