tilt-o-meter?: falling in love with QQ
Not too long ago, a friend of mine told me, "I don't think i've ever seen you lay down queens". He is a good enough friend that this was not just a jab at my sexual orientation, so i've been thinking about it. I do think i tend to fall in love with big pairs and probably don't let them go when i should.
So, here are two QQ hands. Question 1: Am i insane to be capping (5-betting) with QQ? Should the presence of the limpers push me more towards betting (collect money from them since they're probably way behind) or more towards just calling (QQ doesn't do too well multiway and i'm likely to be behind a villain's 4-betting range)? Question 2: Where (if anywhere) should i be folding? -- Live 3/6. Hero has QQ in LP. This is my second orbit at the table, so no real reads. MP raises, Hero 3-bets, MP 4-bets, Hero caps. 5 to the flop. Flop (25 SB): 5 2 2 rainbow MP bets, Hero raises, MP 3-bets. (limpers drop out) Turn (15.5 BB): 8 rainbow MP bets, Hero calls. River (17.5 BB): 5 MP bets, Hero calls. -- Hero has Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] in LP. No read on Villain, although he hasn't raised much preflop. EP villain raises, Hero 3-bets, Villain 4-bets, Hero caps. blinds come along. Flop (20 SB): 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] SB checks, BB checks, Villain bets, Hero raises, SB folds, BB calls, Villain calls. Turn (12 BB): 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] BB checks, Villain checks, Hero bets, BB calls, Villain thinks for a long time and calls all-in. (Hero swears to himself for not noticing that villain became short-stacked). River (15 BB): blank Hero checks, BB checks. |
