Default Bet this River?

My first post.

BB is 52/1/.6 after about 50 hands.

After BB's flop raise, my thoughts were that he had an ace with a decent kicker. Should I be concerned that he may have hit that kicker by the river?

IMO this type of player could be raising any ace on the flop. I bet/call the river.

Don't fear the queen. Bet. (I even make the crying call if raised, because if nothing else it makes me look loose, and lets me see what villain plays like this. And oh yeah, there's still a chance I win.)

I really think we could fold the river if we are raised. If the pot was like 20BB I'd call a raise, but with this kind of player I will probably fold the river and save one BB.

grunching

Given his low aggro, he could be raising with two raggedy pair, but it's more likely to see where you are at. If he is ahead with like top & bottom pair, you have some outs in the board pairing, or pairing your kicker. If he has a weak ace, and you are worried about him pairing his kicker, you both have the same chance to pair your kickers, but you are ahead, and will win more often. If you are concerned about him pairing his kicker on /this/ river, what would would lead you to belive this? You have to bet here always, because you are more often the winner. This is probably a bet & fold to his raise, because of his low aggro. You will save a big bet here in the long run. He may have been playing his two raggedy pair passively to the river, in which case you should make a note.

edit: correction

If he has aces up, I'd be expecting to see A9 or A4 more often than AQ or AJ, honestly.

Yes, it's a definite possibility. Yes, it'll suck. You still have to bet this river. Many, many hands will pay you off here that would check behind if you don't bet.

bet/call the river.

I was about to say that calling a raise was pretty borderline, and that I'd do it, but I think that against this clown, we should probably fold. I'd call in a 15 BB pot, but I think 12 is too small.
