"Respect" was written by Otis Redding (aka the Master of the Universe), but I thought she wrote some of the other hits. I know the arrangements were built around her piano work and vocal, as in they just let her play and sing, then used the band to fill in space around her, rather than have her sing over an arrangement. Either way, a top notch talent. Women not talented at music, just wow. Ella Fitzgerald is waiting in hell to whip some ass.

Best I could Google up was a co-writing credit. I did find that '(You Make Me Feel) Like A Natural Woman' was written by Carole King, didn't know that.

I've got some vinyl I'll check when I get home. Could've sworn she wrote at least some of her stuff. But either way, she rules.
