Default Gus Hansen just Owned Chip Reese

Lol @ Reese trying to make plays on Gus. Can you say outplayed? Gus Hansen is the greatest in the world, just step aside boys, and let the man steal the blinds. That's your best chance.

That is the kind of thing that happens when you slowplay your AK pre-flop. Gus Hansen just taught him a lesson in poker.

And if anyone thinks Reese should have wanted Hansen to throw away AJ preflop, they're even crazier.

I can say outplayed, but I can't see it. Gus didn't outplay Chip or Howard, he outdrew them. He either the right odds to play those hands, in which case he played as well as they did, or he didn't have the right odds, in which case he sucked out. When you go into a pot as the underdog, you are not outplaying any one, you are either playing correctly or you are playing poorly.

Gus gets a lot of air time because he hits a lot of flashy draws. He is obviously a very good player, but I wouldn't put any money on him long term against anyone else at that table. I have no evidence, but I think that intuition is too big a part of Gus' game. He's going to be burnt out and gone while Phil Ivey is still winning bracelets years from now.
