Default I hate these decisions.

One limper, SB completes, and I raise K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] from the BB. The flop comes 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] and the SB, a loose-passive player in general (but with unknown betting/donkbetting practices) leads into me. I raise, limper folds, and SB calls. Two to the turn for 5BB.

The turn is the 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. SB checks, I bet, he calls. Two to the river, 7BB.

The river is the 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. All I know about him on the river is that his aggression is 1.13. Whatever that means. This is the first orbit. Anyway, he bets.

I like a bet here. Loose passives love to pay off with wierd hands on boards like this. You would have heard from an eight by now and since he is passive you can fold the river with confindence if raised.

Reread the river action.

I would raise and probably fold to a 3bet if he is a dumbass who could have an overpair and worse here, but call anyone else. But I don't think this is really an important decision though.

This is pretty bad advice IMO. Why are you raising? He donk bet the flop into hero's PFR. He may have a 4 here or an 8 here or rarely the nut flush draw. Once the board double pairs he donk bets again. Hero is very rarely ahead here. If he was bluffing he folds. If he has a 4 he calls or maybe 3 bets. if he has an 8 he 3 bets. Where is the value in the raise?

I think a call here is all you can do and hope for some random bluff or a smaller flush.

Yuck. Without a read on his betting proclivities, I:

can't see doing anything but calling and hating life.

[/ QUOTE ]

Strong reads could obviously push this in different directions, but against (for the most-part) an unknown quantity, I do the hating life bit.

Actually I misread it. I don't think he pays off a worse hand if you raise, so just call.

I also think folding is absurd.
