RL has kept me away from the board for a while, but had to come back when I saw Greg's name in the news.

Traded emails with my friends, who are novices, all week. Some, who know poker almost exclusively through ESPN and the Travel Channel, were confused by the lack of "names" atop the leader board.

My response, from last Tuesday morning:

"I was delighted to see Greg Raymer in 4th position (after day one). You guys probably don't know him yet, but he was a regular at the message board I used to frequent, and a really nice guy. He also knows more about tournament poker than any of us can ever dream of. Now, realize it's really early, and some things still will have to fall the right way, but he has the experience and skill to pull this off."

Happy to see the man proved me right. Occasionally, the good guy does win. Way to go, Greg!

Gongratulations Greg! The last week has been a fun ride for everyone at 2+2, and especially me being a Nutmegger like him who plays at Foxwoods. Can't wait until he goes "Back to Back"!

Ladies and gentlemen, we now have a world champion that we can be so proud of. A man who has given hours upon hours to help improve our games as he improves his own. The most accessible world champion the game has ever or will ever know.
