it'd probably be a good idea to get a crossover cable.

Never heard of it.
I'll swing by the CompUSA and pick one up.

I don't have THAT much....but it sounds like it will be pretty helpful.
Thanks for the suggestion.

My spanking new FREE television from Empire for 25k points arrived yesterday (it's VERY nice. I like it a lot).

I should have the points for this by the end of the month ... can you let me know what I can expect?

It depends on where you are I think.
so if you're REALLY remote you might get a not-as-nice TV since it will cost them more to ship.

but I believe that most people are getting the same unit...

Sony KV-27FS120 27" FD Trinitron WEGA Flat Screen TV

Pretty cool you're picking up a new computer, just make sure you go through and wipe the old one VERY clean of all your personal information before you ship it out. I'd strongly recommend reformatting the HD to be safe.

The problem with wiping the computer is that it may eliminate whatever problem MicroBob is having.

The guys at the store (or someone here) can probably explain it better than me, but basically what it does is create a mini-network out of the two computers. That way you can view your old comptuer from your new one, and just copy and paste all the files over to the new computer. You just need an ethernet port on each computer. Probably a lot quicker and easier than attaching everything to e-mails.

Hmmm...good point. At least make sure to go through and delete all your personal information (address books, data files, clear your cookies, etc) and change all your passwords. Can't be too careful.

Exactly. I can't reformat the hard-drive or else I risk fixing the damn thing.

I can only just do what I can to get rid of all the passwords as best as possible.

Obviously I can also change the passwords on each and every site I play on once I send it out (as well as bank-account and neteller and stuff like that).

Perhaps I'll write to them again and explain that I am trusting them with all the info that they may be able to extract from my computer if they tried.

I don't think they would do something out of line with my info...but perhaps I can remind them that if one of their guys runs off with any of my info I could be really screwed.

Otherwise I think I pretty much need to send it to them 'as is'.

Bob, you are one of the very few I'd trust here when it came to money, and I don't even know you.

You've earned this high level of respect that was shown to you.

Congrats on the new computer also and I sure hope it helps AP solve the dilemma many of us have experienced at their site.

Can't wait for AP to be a major major player in online poker. They truely deserve it for their pro player promotions and great support.

If you get a chance to suggest the option to open up a fourth table there, I think that would be a quantum improvement for drawing full time players. I would love a fourth table.

Enjoy the good times Bob.

Default Someone contacted me from Absolute for a special bonus

Yeah I agree, they have great support. I just got done eating dinner the other day when my phone rang and it was a woman named Lindsay who had a special bonus that was just for me. She told me about it and said she would email it to me. It was pretty nice, I wasn't able to take advantage of it because I couldn't get the money in time but they were gonna give me something like 20% for no real reason and in addition they were just gonna give me like 10 free dollars. Not bonus dollars, real dollars that I could use immediately. I thought that it was pretty cool of them.
