bad EP situation.
I am in the BB and see a free flop with 4-6s. About 6 players saw the flop. Flop comes 4-8-8 and the action is on me.
My feeling is that this hand is completely worthless. Betting into 4 players will not make everyone fold even if nobody has a hand. Virtually any card that can come hurts you, and you do not have position. I just saw this hand and bet out with it...but felt like an idiot immediately after. Is there any value in this situation that I'm missing? |

Re: bad EP situation.
Check fold... I think they call this reverse implied odds... you may be ahead now... but by the end of the hand you have almost no chance of being ahead.
Plus in your situation... with that many people seeing the flop you are probably already behind. |

Re: bad EP situation.
Troo dat... I'd bet out here most of the time if only one limper was behind me. About half the time if 2 are behind me..
0% of the time if 4 are behind me |

Re: bad EP situation.
You were dead on with your gut reaction. I doubt any bet you make will take the pot right now. The risk of an 8, or another overpair like 66 or 77 are too great for you to make any money. Your 4 could also be outkicked. Even if you are ahead right now, what card would you want to see on the turn and river? Nearly every card makes a higher overpair. I'd pray for the unlikely check down and fold to any bet, other than maybe a minbet on the river by a crafty guy thinking his A high is best.

Re: bad EP situation.
Muck to almost any bet here, your hand will not hold up and might already be drawing dead.
